| March 30, 2006 | | A review of Bob Brinker by a dissatisfied listener | | Review...
For those who have spent years listening to Bob Brinker boost Vanguard and their products - fine products to be sure - hear this particularly telling interaction. A woman who is interested in a safe place for some of her funds inquires as to whether Bob has ever heard of ING Direct, a savings account that is crediting 2.6%. Bob states that he "doesn't endorse" products but that the most important thing to be sure about is whether the institution is FDIC insured - he makes no claim that ING Direct is not FDIC insured (they are)-but spends most of the call pointing out the importance of FDIC insurance. After which he calmly adds that if the woman is looking for safety and check writing ability, she might look at the Vanguard Money Market account (no endorsement here - and, wait a minute, no FDIC insurance either) with a current 7 day yield of 2.4%. ??? | | |
