| November 18, 2007 | | Robert Allen's business practices have caused people to file bankruptcy. | | Review...
If you value your money, your relationships and your emotional health, do not do any business with this man. He hides behind a web of businesses whose sole objective is to separate you from your money. My wife and I became involved with his "Enlightened Millionaire Institute" in 2005 and we have been bleeding money ever since. The selling point for us was Allen's apparent partnership at the time with Mark Victor Hansen, of "Chicken Soup for the Soul" fame. This lent some credibility in our minds to his programs. This partnership no longer seems to exist. We had to go through a "qualifying" process to determine if we were sufficiently "enlightened" to participate in his programs. In reality, this was simply a process to see how much credit card liquidity we had. We attended several of his events, which were heavily staged (singers, lighting, candles, etc.) with everyone clapping and cheering, and we bought in to his programs. There were other scoundrels at these events who were promoting other expensive and useless programs, such as the well known 'WizeTrade' stock program and a stage hypnotist named Marshall Sylver who was passing himself off as some kind of life changing relationship Guru. About 10 days after the first 3 day seminar we received a huge box full of outdated and useless CDs - mostly consisting of 10 year old recycled seminar recordings. We then attended Allen's "Millionaire Academy" in Las Vegas (another staged event in which a group from a local real estate firm showed up in expensive sports cars which were leased just for this event to show everyone how we could get rich quickly in the Las Vegas market). We bought into the hype and ended up purchasing 4 properties, which are still bleeding money in late 2007. I could go on at great length regarding this man and his associates, but my advice to anyone who reads this is to avoid this scammer like the plague. I know of three couples who are now in bankruptcy as a consequence of becoming "Enlightened Millionaires." Do business with Robert Allen at your own risk. | | |
