| April 13, 2008 | | Review by Steve F -- Long time sales man learned foundational values from Jeff Paul | | Review...
It is 11 years since I spent several hundred of my hard-earned dollars on "Jeff Paul Tells All," an audio cassette and printed marketing course. I'm sure I haven't thought about him or it for at least 8 years, as I have been busy learning and discarding two trades, getting married overseas, and having three kids. Today I had a sales meeting in my 5-month-old new job, and the boss, who did not hire me for sales, said, Steve, "Where do you get these ideas? That's fantastic!" Good question, and I gave it some thought. I finally remembered Jeff Paul's marketing course. Cut away the hype, forget the get-rich-quick mentality of the 19-year-old I was then, and filter out Jeff's raunchy sense of communication, and I realize that the principles he taught were pure gold. Bringing prospects through a multiplicity of stages, which filters out the tire-kickers, being sensitive and non-threatening throughout, having a settled collection of marketing materials for each stage of the game; I have to say I draw on that course every day. I threw it out years ago, but Jeff's principles of marketing are great, and applied the way I use them work towards long-term wealth and have earned me the respect of guys who have been selling my line for 10 years. | | |
