Shortest description I would use to describe Jackson Hewitt Tax Service is that they lie, are absolutely incompetent, irresponsible and untrustworthy people.
I have done my return filing work with them this year with my 2 other colleagues. Before visiting their office, when I asked about their fees or charges, they told me $60. Then, while doing my paper work, the lady from Jackson Hewitt saw that I was getting a refund of $1000 and suddenly told me that I had to pay a $175 fee. There was no reason given.
In case of both of my colleagues, they have made serious mistakes like writing wrong addresses, not sending W2 forms along with the return (Can you believe this?) etc. In addition to that they are taking no responsibility for their mistakes, behave rudely once you have paid the fees and they don't believe in any kind of customer service.
Never work with Jackson Hewitt. I promise they will mess with your return and will put you in trouble after taking more than $100 fees. | | |
