It would take the last 7 years for me to reflect before writing a Bob Brinker critique objectively. I followed his radio show for 6 months, in 1999, before subscribing to his newsletter. I had learned the value of not depending on a financial adviser...and his Vanguard rec. was a good one.
But at the exact point of subscribing to the newsletter, I rec'd the 'sell 60% rec. and did so. And I chased that with the buy the QQQs for a bear market rally. I continued to follow his advice until I had lost $150k...then his members' forum was shut down for peoples' criticisms. And his refusal to acknowledge any mistake. (this wasn't a portfolio rec., just an aside rec., so it really didn't count.) I at least learned to do my own thinking and objective analysis. | | |
