Further, his response was to tell the caller to fire his broker (that will get his money back for sure). <br /> <br /> As it turns out, that caller has an excellent chance of recovering his money, but Brinker's lack of knowledge in that investment area prevented him from giving the caller any positive news. So, to sum up, Brinker's ego prevented him from honestly telling the caller to seek out someone knowledgeable in the investment area in question. His arrogance came through when he suggested that the caller would not have made such a ridiculous error had he been a regular listener.<br /> <br /> Oh yes, let's talk about Vanguard, specifically the 500 Index: His much lauded retirement investment vehicle. This fund has remained flat since 2000. If you retired in 2000 and never added to the account, it would be worth exactly what it is today. Great investment!
