I had been researching him and checking his references for over a year prior. Because I had heard many positive reviews, I finally decided to accept an invitation from a colleague to attend along with him. I'm sorry that I did so.

Dave Lindahl is a very likable guy, and to be fair, he does teach the basics of how to evaluate whether an apartment is likely to be a profitable investment or a loser. But the instruction ends there. At least half of the four days are spent with other upsells - most of which have little if anything to do with apartments. When attending these types of training seminars I expect a few upsells, but that seems excessive to me.

And Dave burns valuable time talking about everything from life in Boston, how to say "clam chowder" in the right accent (there's even a slide on this), his new hair implants, and how to buy his other bootcamps. All interesting...but isn't this supposed to be a four-day training on how to buy apartments? It really wasn't.

And there were, especially with the "bonus speakers," moments of forced participation where the audience is told to "repeat after me" and "say it like you mean it" and clap their hands, and give a standing ovation before the speaker even takes the stage, and raise their hands, and shout responses. Louder. Louder! Many of us commented that we felt bad for some of the speakers because they sought this participation and, in many cases, the audience was not buying it.

Then one speaker had several CDs and DVDs that he was giving away. But he only had enough for about 25% of the room. So he encouraged the audience to "be first" and jump up to get them. This was entertaining the first two times, watching 100-150 people trip all over themselves to grab the goods. But after that, they caught on that they needed to be quick, and the mad dash to "be first" started to border on the violent.

Several left the room in apparent frustration (or was it disgust?). I just had to ask myself: Is this a learning environment conducive to buying apartments? Perhaps I should have looked more closely at what his graduates are doing post-seminar. Several of them were already (prior to this seminar) successful residential real estate investors (as am I). And they (as I) went to Lindahl to take it to the commercial level. But none of the graduates I know (and I know several), have bought a single apartment building even two years after having attended this course.

Keep in mind, I'm talking about proven action-takers that were unable to use Lindah's training to make it work. They all went back to residential. I suspect I will too. Why? Not because apartment investing is impossible. But because Dave Lindahl's Apartment training simply does not effectively teach you how to do it. As Mr. Miagi once said: "There is no such thing as bad student, only bad teacher." There are exceptions, I'm sure. However, the general rule seems clear to me: most graduates of Dave's course do not become apartment owners. Dave is an information marketer first, an investor second. Just know this going in and you won't be disappointed.

Promotional Offer - Have 20-30 Hot Prospects Calling You Daily! Good points made about shifting ones thinking with regard to money. It was near the end when the speed of the sales pitch put me off...a very rush rush...'limited membership...special discount price if you act now!" And the speaker also used the same scare/fear tactics about 401Ks and retirement etc. - not nice. I almost bought in...almost.

Promotional Offer - Make Thousands of $$$ From Your Home Computer and Talk to No One

See Also

National Grants Conference Uses Snake Oil
